This is a photo of my hubby, my oldest son, and I on a tour in St. Kitts.  It was a very hot day and we had a great time!  The photo was taken by friends from England that we met on our 2014 West Bound Transatlantic Cruise on the Disney Magic.  We are looking forward to sailing with them again in 2018 - this time on the Disney Wonder, and through the Panama Canal!!!

I've also decided to enter this layout over at the Let's Get Sketchy Blog's September 1st Sketch Challenge

Here are some close ups for you:

Lasting Memories #362 Guest Designer "Plaids" and "Stuck?! Sketches" September Challenge

Hi Everyone! This weeks "Pattern" challenge #362 over at the Lasting Memories Challenge Blog is to use "PLAIDS" on your layout.   After digging through my paper "stash"  I pulled out some of the different plaid papers that I could find, and I also decided to use this awesome September 1st SKETCH from over at the "Stuck?! Sketches" Blog for inspiration for my layout.  I am linking it to their challenge too!
If you've been stopping by my blog this month - this is the 4th Guest Designer Layout I've completed for the Lasting Memories blog, and I have to say, it has been lots of FUN!
I've had this really cool "Starbucks" Washi tape that I ordered on-line from the Washi Kingdom website, and thought it would work great with the plaids I found, and the "Starbucks Selfie" photo that I wanted to use!   I hope my layout inspires you to play along!
I love the travel mug I am holding in this photo, and I created a journaling tag out of a used Starbucks Gift Card, where I journaled why it is one of my favorites, by gluing a piece of white cardstock to the back of it.  I created a "pocket" behind the photo with 3M 3-D foam tape, so I could slip the journaling card in there.
I punched a hole on the side so I could add some paper yarn as a pull.  I created a "pocket" behind the photo with 3M 3-D foam tape, so I could slip the journaling card in there.

Of course I had to add some more Starbucks Washi Tape to the top of my journaling card too!!
I used a cardboard coffee cup sleeve that I had in my stash as an embellishment too - and I love these little plastic Starbucks embellishments I picked up at a Scrapbook Expo Show last year! You can also see a close up of the super cool washi tapes here too!!

I used Tonic Studio's Nuvo Mousse - in Citrus Green both around the edges of the dark green base page - and also used it in a Tim Holtz stencil too.  I LOVE the shimmer and dimension!  Oh and that little iPhone brad and the Selfie circle brad at the bottom of the photo are so much fun too!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you play along with us at the Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge blog too!

September Challenge YOUrself #45 Sketch Fun!

I love a good sketch, and the on we are using over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog for our September Challenge was lots of FUN!  Just use the Sketch below - and be sure to include YOU in one of the photos to play along with us this month!

I used Simple Stories "I AM" Collection - one of my favorites,
for my take on the sketch!!
This is a photo of my wonderful brother and me, celebrating at my Birthday dinner, at a nearby restaurant.  Now that we, and our children are older -  our family has started a wonderful tradition. We, my parents, my brother and his family, my hubby, and our sons and I, go out to dinner together to celebrate our birthdays.  The birthday person gets to pick the restaurant, and they get their meal free, and usually we give each other a small gift.
It is always a FUN time!

Here are a few close ups:

Lasting Memories September Guest Designer " STRIPES" Challenge LM#360

Hi everyone! It is time for week # 2 as a Guest Designer for September Challenges over at the Lasting Memories Scrapbook Layout Challenge Blog!  As you know, this month is all about patterns, and this week, the LM#360 challenge is to use Stripes somewhere on your layout - as many (or as little) as you would like - Just make sure there are stripes on it somewhere -  Check out all the details and rules over at the LM Blog!

I decided to use LOTS of stripes on my layout!  I included striped patterned paper, striped washi tape, even striped buttons!

Here is my Guest Designer Inspiration Layout for you!  I hope you will play along with us this week!  You have all month to LINK UP your layout so go ahead and "have at it!"
These photos are of some of my scrappy friends and me, at a SUPER FUN Weekend Scrapbooking Crop! Scrap-a-Doodle Doo puts on these awesome crops 4 times a year and we always have a BLAST, Scrapping and Laughing together!
( www.shopthedoo.com )  Each Crop event is "themed" and this Crop was right after the 4th of July weekend, so it was called "Star Spangled Scrapping!"   I had to include a "?" after the #CROPPING in my title, as after looking at these pictures, I am not sure how much actual "Cropping" took place! LOL!!

I am LOVING these buttons from Queen and Company!  I picked them up at the Scrapbook Expo event last month, specifically with this layout in mind!
Besides Themed decorations, and give-a-ways, there is always some kind of "photo-op" including "props" too for all of us scrappers to "capture the memories!"

Of course, all the late night scrappers need a little "adult libations" to keep our "mojo" flowing into the wee hours of the morning!

So come join in the FUN, and let us see what you can do with "STRIPES" by joining in on Challenge #LM360 at the Lasting Memories Blog!!   You have until September 30th to LINK UP and play along!
