Selfie Fun! - Paper Issues July Sketch Challenge Entry

Hi Scrappy Friends!!

I found some more time to play with my scrap stuff and had a blast creating this layout for Paper Issue's July Sketch Challenge!

Here is the FUN Sketch:

And here is my layout:

I made the background paper by "pouncing" Ranger Distress Stains onto a piece of plastic, spritzing it with water, and then placing my cardstock on top of it, and "smooshing" it around a bit!  I used Peacock Feathers, Fossilized Amber and Picked Raspberry Distress Stains.
The paper collection and stickers are from the "Fun with Friends" by Photoplay!  LOVE the colors and FUN patterns!  I think this collection works perfectly with the FUN photo of my friends and I at one of the past weekend crop!  LOVE these Ladies!

Here are a few close ups for you!

I cut the title out with my Cricut - after "welding" the letters together in Design Space - still trying to get the hang of using it!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to head over to the Paper Issues Blog and check out all the fun challenges this month!

July Double Challenge Entry - Drinks by the Pool!

I had some extra free time this month and decided to play along with a few more challenge blogs - (not sure how that happened but I am so glad it did!)

I am LOVIN' this SKETCH Challenge over at the STUCK?! Sketch Challenge Blog the month and I'm so happy I had a chance to Play along!
and the Pick a Minimum of 5 Items Challenge for the TAKE 5 Tuesday Challenge from the Paper Issues BLOG - inspired me too!

I used: Orange, Pink, Stickers, Cardstock, Washi, Layers, Patterned Paper, Enamel Dots. - 9 Items in all!

Here is my layout!
This is a memory capture of a SUPER FUN Brothers week we shared with my hubby's brothers and our sister-in-laws at the AWESOME Beaches in Turks and Caicos in October of 2015!  We really had an amazing time!

The Die-cut title was made by the FABULOUS and multi-talented "Mama Doodle" from my favorite On-Line Scrapbook Store -  Scrap-a-Doodle Doo - (www.shopthedoo.com)

I bought it at the last weekend crop they hosted - and there was some discussion as to what the title actually says -
Is it - "Drinks by the Pool" - or - "Drunks by the Pool"
What do you think?

I think it all depends upon the time of day ( and the number of drinks consumed ) when the photos were taken!  So - what do you think - Drinks or Drunks?  I am happy it seems to do "double duty!" LOL!

I used NUVO Mousse by Tonic Studios and a stencil to make the shimmery swirls on the base page - I used Aquamarine and Spring Green to make them.  I LOVE this stuff!! So much FUN!

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you are inspired to play along with these challenges - or at least find a few minutes for YOU to create!

July Red, White and Blue Challenge Entries

Lots of Patriotic and FUN Inspiration going on at quite a few Challenge Blogs this month - I decided to play along with a couple of them! I also am a huge fan of RED WHITE and BLUE - since my birthday is on Flag Day!

I created the layout below and I am entering it into the following 4 July Blog Challenges:

Creative Embellishments:  Be inspired by 1 element from the pic. Please let us know what you were inspired by if it isn’t obvious and the twist is to use add stars and stripes to your project. ***We would love to see you USE AT LEAST 1 OF  CE products on your projects but it isn’t required to play along. However, everyone that does will get an extra chance at winning.
-My take: I was inspired by the Red, White, and Blue colors, along with the Stars and Fireworks.  I used a piece of Creative Embellishment's " Circle Panel " Chipboard that I painted with White Pearl Ranger Distress Paint.

Lasting Memories July Challenge # 352 -  "We want you to show us your 4th of July adventure! If you didn't have an adventurous American holiday or are not American, show some red, white, and blue. or show some sparkle in your layout."
- My take: While this photo was not taken on a 4th of July Adventure - you can't get any more American than a photo with Donald Duck ( okay, maybe with Mickey Mouse - but Donald Duck is #1 in my book!)

The Creative Studio - Canvas Corp Brands  July "Flags of the World Challenge" "This month we want you to use the colors from the flag from YOUR country when you create. There is no limit to what you can do with this challenge – home decor pieces, water color paintings, cards, tags or altered items" #ccbchallenge
- My take: Not only did I use USA Red, White and Blue, along with Stars and Stripes - I include Donald Duck - and American Icon!

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge - "Scrapbook, make a card, or art journal using old paper from your stash, or an old piece of paper in your layout. Maybe you have a ticket from the past to include in your layout??????
-My take: While I did not use an old piece of paper - I did use an old piece of silver "punchinella" along the bottom of the page - like a strip of paper - along with an old paper sticker of Donald Duck on the bottom right corner of the photo!

This is a photo of hubby, Donald Duck and I on our first trip to Disneyland in 2012, before our 14 night cruise to Hawaii on the Disney Wonder to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary.

Here is the piece of chipboard from Creative Embellishments

The silver "punchinella" is actually what is left after the manufacturer punches out and makes sequins - pretty cool huh?!

The star garland was a decoration I had from a recent "Star Spangled Scrapping" weekend and fit perfectly with this month's theme! I also sprayed the background paper with Tattered Angel's L.E.D. RED Glimmer Mist and blotted RED and Blue Ranger Distress Stains on a plastic bag, spritzed it with water and smoothed it on the background paper too!

God Bless the USA!
Thanks for stopping by - I hope you get a chance to play along with these awesome challenge blogs!

"Donuterie" SOS July Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hello and welcome to the July Tic Tac Toe Challenge at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!!  Which row will you chose?
I couldn't decide so I picked a bunch of them!!
CENTER: The colors RED, WHITE and BLUE, Stars, Tag
DIAGONAL: Striped Paper, Stars, Twine
BOTTOM: Striped Paper, Tag, Banner (across the bottom)
** I'm almost tempted to go back and add a Number, Chipboard and Stamping - to "fill" the whole board!! - Maybe that is an idea for next month's challenge??!!

I am also entering this Layout in the July challenge over at the Creative Embellishment Blog - using this photo as inspiration:

Here is my Design Team Layout - I call it:
"DONUTS at a DONUTERIE!"
On our first trip to Vancouver, BC in 2015, we made sure we visited Cartem's Donuterie!  I had found them on line when searching for "vegan" food, for my oldest son, and saw that they made vegan donuts, (as well as regular ones too!)  WELL.... that MIGHT depend upon what you think "regular" is!  How about  "Canadian Whiskey Maple Bacon" (Yes REAL Bacon!) or "Earl Grey" with actual Rose Petals sprinkled on it!  I put this place on my "MUST DO" trip planning list right away!

We weren't able to make it there pre-cruise - so it was a MUST DO, post cruise.   We navigated / toured the city using a Hop on Hop off Trolley, and tried to plan it so that the Donuterie was near our last stop.  It almost worked out that way - it was our 3rd to last stop- and I ended up carrying the Bright Red Donut box around the city for about an hour or so!! -  Well, many Vancouverites, commented on my precious cargo, with "YUM, Cartem's" as we walked back to our hotel!!  Needless to say, they were correct - YUM! for sure!

Yes, donuts (and coffee) make me happy, and this sweet little puffy donut sticker does too!

I love how the twine used for the banner matches the twine used to tie the donut box!

This is a close up of the title I cut on my new Cricut Explore Air 2 - I really need to use it more - as I love how this came out!
I made a "secret" little pocket behind the donut photo to tuck in a journaling card.

On the back of the tag I made a "Donut Map" and noted the date on the right hand side.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I've inspired you to play along with us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog this month!!  Come on - "Get Scrappy" with us!!
