Creative Scrappers Sketch #307

WOW - I finally had a little extra time to create a layout (not for a Design Team!) and enter it into another sketch challenge this month!!  When I saw this sketch, #307,  on the Creative Scrappers Blog - I knew I had to play along!

I am a BIG FAN of Simple Stories and I LOVE how their collections offer not only papers, but also a large matching variety of coordination embellishments too!   I decided to use their "Life in Color" collection for this layout, along with some washi tape and a few sparkly flowers too!

Here is my layout:
This is a photo of my BFF Janice and me at a FUN 50's Themed Scrapbook Weekend Crop - hosted by our favorite on-line Scrapbook Store Scrap-a-Doodle Doo.  Their crops are always SUPER FUN and filled with lots of laughter and creativity!  I can't wait to attend the next one - coming up next weekend!!

SOS June Sketch + SUMMER "Bon Voyage!"

Hi Scrappy friends!  Summer is finally here in New Jersey - we've had such cold and rainy weather these last few weeks, but now we are finally being treated to some sunshine and warm temperatures - just as June should be!!  I hope it is sunny in "your neck of the woods" too!

I can't wait to share the June Sketch Plus Word Challenge from SCRAP OUR STASH with you! This month's "WORD" is "SUMMER" - besides using the sketch below for your inspiration - you must use something from your "STASH" that starts with each of the letters in the word SUMMER!

Here are the items I used:
S- Simple Stories Say Cheese Epoxy Metal Clips, Silver Anchor, Stickers
U- Uniball Pen - handwriting in the Title
M - Mickey Mouse, Metal Brads,
M - My Mind's Eye "Bye the Sea" ( Open Seas and All Aboard)
E - Echo Park Enamel Dots
R - Ranger Distress Stains
I had so much fun using this sketch to document one of our "bucket list" vacations. I used photos of my husband and I sailing away from Miami, at the start of our 14 night Disney Wonder Westbound Panama Canal Cruise, in May of 2016.

Here is my DT Inspiration layout for you!
We were so happy to be on board - as there were some issues a few days prior to sailing.  It seems that the cruise prior to ours had an outbreak of the Norovirus - and the CDC had to get involved!!  We were unsure if our cruise would leave the day it was scheduled to depart - and we were on pins and needles until we got the news that it would!  (Although we did leave about 4 hours later than scheduled!)

Here are some close ups for you:

I had these cool shirts made that listed all of our ports of call on the back. The WBPC stands for WestBound Panama Canal - and the 16 is the year we sailed through!
The front of the shirts had cruise ports and cruise words listed in the shape of a Mickey head.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I've inspired you to use some of your STASH and join us this month at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!!

JUNE Challenge YOUrself Blog #42 - "Starry Starry Night"

Hello everyone! It is time for another Super Awesome Challenge from our friends at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  There are so many ways you can use this work of art prompt to inspire YOU!  Just be sure to use a photo of YOU in the layout!  I can't wait to see what you will come up with!!

Here is your inspiration for JUNE:
I see so many "things' in this artwork - buildings, city, vacation, water, blue skies, I wonder what will inspire you??

For my layout - I chose to use a selfie that I took of myself and then applied a filter to, from an App on my phone. It was taken at night, and the inspiration photo reminds me of a scene at night.  I decided to also go with the 3 color scheme, selecting Black, White and Gold.  See - it is all about how YOU are inspired!

Here are some close ups for you!
So, I got a new Cricut Explore Air 2 machine recently and my first project was to create this title!  I love how it came out!!

I used a stencil and some Tonic Studio's Nuvo Mousse to create these awesome 3D stars!!  LOVE how they came out!! So much fun!!

I've had this Tim Holtz Film Strip for quite some time - so happy I got to use it for this layout!
While you can't see any stars in this photo - it was certainly a "Starry Starry Night!"

LOVE these Tim Holtz "Small Talk" stickers - they may be "small talk" but they sure carry some BIG messages of Inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I really hope I have helped to inspire you to play along with us this month at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  Come on - Get Scrappy With It!!

SOS June Tic Tac Toe - "Love My Sons!"

It's time for June's Tic Tac Toe Challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog friends!  Can you believe we are halfway through 2017!!  I hope you can take some time for yourself this month and play along with us on this SUPER FUN Challenge from Scrap Our Stash!

Here is the board - just pick three items in a row to use on your layout from your Stash - and get scrappy with it!!

Here is my inspiration layout for you -  Title: "Love My Sons!"

This is a photo of my sons and me, at a family party. I used:
the top row - the COLOR RED, BUTTONS, and RIBBON for the challenge.

Here are some close ups for you:

I fussy cut some of the flowers and pop-dotted them around the photo.  PS - I LOVE these 2 guys too!!

I used Evergreen Bough and Picket Fence Ranger Distress Stain on the chipboard element.

Above and below are close ups of the texture that I added to the layout.  I used light modeling paste and a stencil to create the design.  I then dabbed a baby wipe in the Evergreen Bough Distress Stain and tapped it on top of the wet modeling paste to create 2 the tone look you see.  I LOVE how it came out - and will have to try it again on other layouts!

Thanks so much for stopping by.   I hope I have inspired you to PLAY ALONG with us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog this month!!  I can't wait to see what row you choose!!
