Lasting Memories March Guest Designer - BIRTHDAY SKETCH

I am so excited to announce that I have been chosen as a Guest Designer for the month of March at the "Lasting Memories" Scrapbook Layout Challenge Blog!!!  Woo Hoo!! - this is a really FUN Challenge Blog with lots of talented Designers, and lots of FUN Challenges, and I am honored that I was chosen!!

The first challenge of the month is to use the AWESOME Sketch below - by Laura Whitaker !  AND - since it is Sandy's Birthday Month - ( she is one of the DT Members at Lasting Memories) - the theme for the Layout should be "Birthday"
Well, I realized that I didn't have many (if any) Birthday papers, so I improvised and use a great paper collection from Fancy Pants!  I've had this for a while and just LOVE the colors!  Here is my layout for your inspiration:
These photos are from my family Birthday dinner this past June.  Instead of buying gifts ( but we usually do get each other something small anyway,) we go out to dinner at the restaurant of the Birthday person's choice.   I sat next to my crazy (younger) and WONDERFUL Brother this year at my celebration!  We took a few silly selfies until our Mom took one of us from across the table.
I LOVE my "little" Brother - I know he is always there for me if I need him - and he is so talented and a gifted craftsman - I use paper - he uses wood!!  LOVE YOU BROTHER!!

Here are some close ups for you:
I added stickers to spell out "Happy Birthday"

I made some candles out of paper to add to the Birthday feel of this layout!

We are never too old to be Silly! - I love to add a pocket behind my photos to slide a tag into - I use the tag to journal the story of the photos and layout.

Celebrating my "double nickel" Birthday!  #thisiswhat55lookslike LOL!

This layout captures memories of an awesome day spent with family and weekend filled with lots of adult laughs.  I am so thankful that my husband and his 2 brothers are so close - and that I love my sisters-in-laws as my sisters that I never had.  We always have a great time whenever we are together -even though the "boys" sometimes act like little "boys!"  Love them all with all my heart!
I did find the triangles a bit of a challenge, and ended up using a triangle template that I cut out of scrap paper, and used it as a guide to make the triangles out of some thin washi tape - I am very happy with how they came out - and I can't wait to see what you will come up with!

Here are a few close ups of the details:

I hope you have time to play along with us this month!  Check out the Scrap Our Stash BLOG for more inspiration from my fellow DT Members!  Happy Scrapping! Thanks for stopping by!

Challenge YOUrself #38 February Challenge

Hello and HAPPY February!  We have a "LOVELY" New Challenge ready for you over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  I hope you will join us and play along!

This month, we Challenge YOU to create a Layout -using the "Color RED," and "Stamping" somewhere on your layout.  Don't forget, part of the challenge is always to include a photo of "YOU" in your layout!

I have to say, I am NOT a big Stamper - BUT, in reality, I have so many stamps that I can't count them all!  (Shhh... no one has to know that! LOL!)  I really should start using them!! I'm hoping this challenge will push me to do just that, as I "love" how my stamping came out!

For the challenge -

I used RED heart and chevron patterned paper for the base, along with

I Stamped the word LOVE from a Heidi Swapp stamp that I have had FOREVER!  I also stamped the Date on one of the Simple Storie Die Cuts that I had in my stash.

Here is my Design Team inspiration layout for you:
This is a photo of my wonderful hubby and I standing on the Disney Wonder, right in front of the Sawyer Glacier, at the end of the Tracy Arm fjord in Alaska!  It was a cold and very wet, and rainy day. We stood up on Deck 10 for hours, thinking it was going to be right around the corner of every turn! The anticipation built all morning long! We wouldn't give up our post and we go wetter and wetter, and I can honestly say, we would do it all again in a heartbeat!!

Here are a few close ups for you too!
Here you can see my stamping - hey, it is a start (maybe?!)

The Mickey Tag is actually the luggage tag they give you to attach to your luggage the night before you disembark.  The Alaska die cut is from my favorite on-line scrapbook store Scrap-a-Doodle Doo www.shopthedoo.com

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will play along with us this month at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!

February SOS Tic Tac Toe Challenge "Half Price Bloody Marys!"

Half Price Bloody Marys!   Yes, that is what I said!  "Half Price!"  Disney Cruise Line offers them before noon on the sea days of their cruises.  We are BIG Disney Cruise Line fans, and enjoy this little "perk" when we can! It is a fun an yummy way to begin your day while relaxing and soaking up the sun!

And this month's Tic Tac Toe Challenge from Scrap Our Stash is a FUN way to start the month of February too!!  I really love this type of challenge!  There are so many options and possibilities!

I decided to go with the middle row and used ECHO PARK / HEARTS / ENAMEL DOTS - and after looking at my layout - it looks like I used the top row too!  RED / POLKA DOT PAPER (flags) / TAG

I have also entered this layout in the Lasting Memories LM330 February "Hearts or Arrows" Challenge  as well as in Archi-scraps February "Lost of Color" Challenge too!

Here is my layout:
These photos make me "Happy" and "Sad".... "Happy" - because we were on a fabulous 14 night West Bound Panama Canal Disney Cruise vacation!  "Sad" because this was the last day of our trip. "Happy" because we were finally able to find lounge chairs by the adult pool! "Sad" because we were headed towards our last port, San Diego, and as you can see by the blankets we have on us, and the jacket the cast member has on - it was quite a chilly day!  BUT - those  Half Price Bloody Mary's sure helped to warm us up!!

Here are a few close ups for you:
Extra Olives and Extra Spicy Please!

This tag with journaling is tucked behind the photo on the left. I made a pocket with 3D Foam Tape.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you can join us this month at Scrap Our Stash, and play along with this FUN Challenge!
