August Scrap Our Stash Book Cover Challenge "Tracy Arm"

Happy August everyone!  I hope this summer has been treating you well, and you have had the chance to make some wonderful memories!

Here is our Book Cover Challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog, for the month of August:

Use the above Book cover to inspire you when creating your layout, and be sure to include a decorative paperclip!  ( don't have a fancy one in your stash? how about a colored one? or maybe wrap some ribbon, fibers or washi around it and turn a plain old paperclip into something special!)

And here is my layout for your inspiration.  The book cover reminded me of "travel" so I dug through our vacation photos and selected this FUN shot from our Disney Alaska cruise in June of 2015.  I so LOVE this shot of our family, at one of the most beautiful places in the world!

I love non-sketch challenges as they allow me to get creative with odd size or large photos.  This is one of my favorites from our cold, and rainy, but BEAUTIFUL day at Tracy Arm, on-board the Disney Wonder!

The oval with the date, and the Mickey head with the plaid cap are graphic files that a fellow cruiser shared.  I printed them on glossy photo paper, cut them out and added them with foam dots to this little cluster in the corner.

I love to collect beautiful moments, don't you? These small talk stickers are a fun way to add sentiments to a layout.  I matted them on cardstock and pop-dotted them for dimension. I am so happy I selected this background paper as the base! It screams "frozen" and "cold" - which we were!

The Captain Mickey tag is actually given to cruisers on the last night of the cruise, to attach to our luggage, and assist in sorting and locating it for pick up after we disembark.  I was sure to save one as I thought it would make a great embellishment!  You can also see the FUN Mickey paperclip that I picked up in Disneyland earlier this year - LOVE IT!!

If you've visited my blog before, you know I love to make hidden pockets with foam tape, to slip a journaling card in, behind photos. I used some fun Disney washi tape as a pull for this one.

Here is the front of the journaling card.  I also matted it to cardstock and wrote on the back as you can see in the photo below.

Items used:
Scrapbook Customs : Iceberg, Mr. Lumberjack, Alaska Vintage Journal
Tim Holtz - Small Talk Stickers
Ranger Distress Stains : Picket Fence, Candied Apple, Blueprint Sketch
Washi Tape
Mickey Paper Clip - from our trip to Disneyland!

As always, THANK YOU for stopping by, and taking the time to read my blog.  I hope it inspires you to CREATE and play along with us this month at the SCRAP OUR STASH Blog!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!
